who

Finding Order in Wonder

I’m an endless dreamer, seeker, and doer. My professional understanding and work ethic is informed from my experiences in an array of occupational disciplines, including: outdoor & nature-focused education; program & project development & implementation; staff & team management; organizational operations & communications; public speaking & classroom teaching; customer service & patron engagement. Over the last thirteen years, I have held and pioneered education-focused positions within organizations from the internship to leadership level.

My passions and focus orbit the creative process, wonder- & nature-based education, antifragile mindfulness, storytelling, philosophy, and magic — all disciplines I enjoy incorporating into my professional practice. I earned a B.A. in Visual Art & Photography from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, and a M.Ed. in Nature-based & Sustainability Education from Antioch University New England. My formal education is bolstered by experiences living for extended periods in different states, in the desert of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, with goats and without electricity and running water, and in Hanoi, Vietnam, for two years. Prior to specializing in nature-based education, my earlier work history was spent pumping gas, designing & building furniture, slinging cappuccinos, shelving & selling books, restoring antiques, and conserving gold-gilded artifacts — all experiences that inform my outlook, understanding, and approach to the art of working independently and with teams to achieve tangible goals.

I practice the art of balancing work with play, creativity with discipline, and compartmental knowledge with boundless curiosity.
